Yesterday's Output Is Today's Input
My beautiful people, how are you?
This week I slept more, and I’m better. I start to feel the Christmas atmosphere rising, and I love it.
This today issue came out on Saturday because I’m experimenting with a more sustainable routine for the newsletter, instead rushing and stressing myself on Sunday 😊
And now, let’s go!
Yesterday's Output Is Today's Input
My first selfie as Mystery Pianist 🤣
These days I was thinking about a couple of concepts I learned from Tiago Forte, author of the book “Building a Second Brain”.
Recycle the knowledge: Yesterday's Output Is Today's Input
Never start from scratch: don't waste precious energy
In his book, he says:
What most people are missing, however, is a feedback loop—a way to “recycle” the knowledge that was created as part of past efforts so it can be used in future ones as well.
For my small bet “Mystery Pianist”, I recycled my knowledge as much as possible.
My foundations are:
Piano playing
Productivity
Video setup
Piano playing
I have been playing the piano for 33 years. I'm afraid to even write it 🤣
If you are curious, here is my story.
So playing piano covers does not require me too much effort.
Productivity
I’m a productivity geek and I love to have control of my projects.
I use Notion to manage the database from which I choose songs to play.
Video setup
The biggest challenge I'm handling is the video setup.
For this project, I wanted to find a feature that differentiates me from all other pianists on YouTube.
I wanted to focus on the music instead of myself.
So I decided that I would be a shadow :D
Well, the execution of this idea took me a year and a half.
The interesting thing?
My current video setup is in its 3rd iteration, the result of an experiment that began 1 year and 7 months ago.
Here is the timeline:
1st version: March 9, 2021
https://www.loom.com/share/d4f1a42023974a31a0a2e79b424723672nd version: hologram February 6, 2022
3rd version: total shadow October 18, 2022
And it’s still a rough version of what I had in mind, but I like today’s result.
I’ll do a new iteration when I’ll decide to double down on this project.
To speed up the feedback loop, I'm experimenting with this video setup on 2 piano cover youtube channels, with 2 different musical genres:
pop (Mystery Pianist)

My Week in Tweets
Interest VS Commitment by MJ DeMarco.
I feel my interests are changing.
For example, I stopped being interested in PKMs (Personal knowledge management).
I fell in love with the idea of managing a portfolio of multiple projects.
And from next year I will delve into the No-Code world.
The consequence is that I have to reposition myself on my Twitter profile and my newsletter.
Yes, because it has changed too: it was born as a summary of my tweets to be read in a couple of minutes, and evolved within a few weeks into a small weekly essay.

Some people make 10,000 attempts before succeeding, and I always want to succeed the first time 🤦👇

Food for the mind here:
Mattia feels overwhelmed to manage a lot of replies and DMs, and Ev explains how she manages that.
Very interesting how Ev splits her time on Twitter management:

I had a conversation with Inacho, and he talks about how he takes care of his sleep hygiene. Pearls of wisdom in this side hustle culture.
